Cornwall Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) Evaluation

2025

The 'Reviving Our Traditional Woodland' project, led by Pigshill & Clarrick Woods CIC, aimed to enhance accessibility, biodiversity, and community engagement within a 66-acre woodland on the Rame Peninsula, Cornwall.

Funded by £170,000 from the Shared Prosperity Fund, the project delivered key outputs, including upgrading over 2,000 metres of tracks, improving access points, installing signage, creating picnic areas, and purchasing essential equipment such as a vehicle and mobile sawmill. These improvements facilitated sustainable woodland management, increased visitor footfall, and supported community wellbeing through volunteering, training, and educational activities. The initiative also strengthened partnerships with local organisations and conservation groups, promoting inclusivity and environmental sustainability.

Blinkbright Ltd played a pivotal role in evaluating the project, producing a comprehensive report that assessed its impact, benefits, and legacy. Their evaluation included stakeholder consultations, community surveys, visitor audits, and recommendations for future development, ensuring the project's success and alignment with strategic objectives.

Final Evaluation Report - ‘Better By Change’ - Mansfield District Council

2022-2024

Better By Change’ was a two-year pilot project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, delivered by Mansfield District Council and evaluated by Blinkbright. The project involved the recruitment of local people with disabilities, neurodivergence or long-term health conditions into 12-month roles across Cultural Services . A key aim of the project was to increase the representation of disabled people within heritage and arts, and for more a diverse community to benefit locally.

The evaluation has found that a diverse group of local people with a range of disabilities and long-term health conditions have benefitted from a positive, supported employment pathway. Through a work placement approach, there has been an increased representation of disabled people within heritage, including arts, which has helped to raise awareness and promote a changed perspective.
